Born in 1967. Graduated from the School of International Law, Moscow State Institute of International Relations at the Russian Federation Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Early in the 90-s headed Professional Association of Securities Market Participants (now — NAUFOR).
From 1995 to 2003, Dmitry Ponomarev was President of the Russian Trading System (RTS). In November 2001, he was elected Chairman and Member of the Management Board at NP ATS.
