
Head of Investment Banking
Edward Kaufman is responsible for all activities of the Investment Bank, including equities, fixed income and corporate finance. He focuses on the introduction of best practices across all products and on the expansion of investment banking activities among Alfa-Banks current clients as well as potential new clients.
Before joining Alfa-Bank in March 2007, Edward Kaufman served as Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at UBS. He has also worked for leading foreign and Russian companies, including Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup), where he held executive positions in the London and Moscow offices. He was also a member of the European Telecommunications team responsible for SSB Telecom Investment Banking Business in Northern Europe (Scandinavia and Germany) and emerging markets (EMEA).
Edward Kaufman was born on 12 June 1965 in Philadelphia, USA. In 1987 he graduated from Duke University with a BA in political science and Russian. He also holds an MA degree from The Joseph Lauder Institute of Management at the University of Pennsylvania (1992), and an MBA in finance and strategic planning from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (1992).
