
Member of the Board of Directors, Adviser to the Chairman of the Executive Board
Alexander Gafin joined the Bank in 1994 and was Director of Communications and Public Relations until September 2006 when he was appointed Adviser to the Chairman of the Executive Board.
Under Gafin’s guidance, support for charities, Russian culture and the creation of youth development programmes have become high priorities on Alfa-Bank’s list of social causes. Mr Gafin has promoted the Bank’s image at home and abroad with a series of widely acclaimed concerts, exhibitions and special events. Alfa-Bank has supported two extraordinary art exhibitions in New York: “Kazimir Malevich: Suprematism” at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and “Treasures of the Torah” — a rare display of Ukrainian Jewish ceremonial silver on loan from the Historical Treasures Museum of Ukraine.
Alexander Gafin is a member of the Tutorial Council of WWF Russia. He was born in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski in 1954.
